HER REASON
With only .4% of architects being Black women, BuildHER Studio is a non-profit organization striving to increase that number by building design interest at a young age, specifically among students within the city of Atlanta.
HER VISION
To BUILD a community for young Black women with an interest in the field of architecture. To EDUCATE and expose them to relevant design topics. To MENTOR them throughout high school, while providing access to design resources and educational support as they transition into higher education.
HER OBJECTIVES
CULTIVATE creative identity and voice through design
DEVELOP confidence and sharpen individual design perspective
ADVOCATE to retain Black women within the profession
PROMOTE future socially conscious design leadership
